President's Welcome
I bring you greetings from the Alpha Sigma Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. For over 100 years, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., has been our nation’s flagship organization for the development of leaders, the promotion of brotherhood and academic excellence while providing service and advocacy for our communities. As we come to the close of the first decade of the new millennium, the vision of our founders is as clear and relevant as it ever was.
Alpha Sigma Lambda Chapter, founded on November 5, 1932
in Dallas, Texas has carried the banner high for the last 77 years. Many prominent Alpha men have come from the ranks of Alpha Sigma Lambda including the 17th General President A. Maceo Smith.
Alpha Sigma Lambda Chapter is committed to the ideals of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The business of Alpha is carried out through the chapter body and two supporting arms: Alpha Merit and Alpha VII.
Alpha Merit is a non-profit corporation comprised of chapter brothers whose mission is to mentor young boys so that they can become useful and productive men in our society.
Alpha VII is the business arm, which promotes economic development through a legal corporation by and exclusively for brothers of Alpha Sigma Lambda. This corporation provides the chapter meeting place.
I am grateful that you chose to visit our website. We continually strive to live up to the high ideals set by those who came before us and the standards that we have set for ourselves. I hope that you will find this an enjoyable experience and that the light of Alpha will shine upon you.
